Shivanjali woke up from sleep with a startle. She was confused. She was dreaming but the dream almost felt like real as if it was just happening in front of her. What is going on, why this dream all of a sudden. What was the meaning of this? Ankita and Shivanjali had parted ways when Arjun died in the car accident during their college days in Delhi.
Nitin was still asleep. Shivanjali was scared, she did not know if Amrita was a friend or enemy. The scars from past were now surfacing more often. She wasn’t sure if it was because somewhere in her heart she knew that the truth was hidden from her. Was there more too the story between Ishan and Ankita that she wasn’t aware of? It was time to trace back to those days and justify a broken friendship.
“Good Morning Mumbai, I am your favorite RJ Ankita, and welcome to the morning request show on 98.3, send your requests on our WhatsApp number and listen to your favorite songs”
Ankita was employed in Mumbai. After the Mass Communication degree and the fiasco that happened back in college, she wanted to leave Delhi and move to a different city. Mumbai was different. It felt like a second home now or maybe the only home. She loved to be part of 98.3, weekends would go partying.
She was one of those lucky ones to get a desk near the window. Those rainy days were lovely, watching the rain would soothe her wounded soul. She was just wrapping up the show and talking the last request. The last message read “I have my earphones on, love hearing you every day, I hope you haven’t forgotten my birthday, you know my favorite song, Play it for me, Love – Ishan.”
She was numb, it felt like someone had punched her in her face. What just happened. She had lost her senses, she knew what was the song, she added it to the playlist. With no announcement the song started playing. “lag ja gale ki phir ye haseen raat ho na ho…..”.
