2017 has been a great year. The best things topping the list were me getting married to the person I love. It has been a great journey till date I am sure that it will continue to be a journey I will cherish forever. Although one thing took a back seat. Our constant eating out, busy work schedules have affected our general health and slowly I am back into that cribbing mode where the “Clothes don’t fit that well” issue :).
As I write down my goals for 2018. Fitness is on top of the list, as they say, health is wealth. With that said, I have taken a step forward and invested in a fitness tracker that not only tracks overall sleep pattern but also the number of steps I take in a day and the activities I carry out my self to keep me fit and healthy. I am one of those who does invest in a gym but is not motivated enough or sometimes is not able to include a gym in my routine.

Here is what I did to mitigate this issue and to get into a routine of fitness. I bought a BSA Duatron 003 Bike cum Elliptical machine to get a good cardio routine. I also have 2 kg and 3 kg weight Dumbells at home and a yoga mat. If you do not have a budget for this that is absolutely fine. Just install a pedometer on your phone and start walking initially and then move on to jogging. If you are able to control your breath with jogging the next step is to move on to running.
My target is to complete 10000 steps a day and the reason being 10,000 steps each day typically burns about 2000 to 3500 extra calories each week. so depending on your weight and workout intensity, you could lose 1 Kg per week easily if you challenge yourself to 10000 steps a day. This might seem a little overwhelming in the beginning. Here is a key to achieve it, start with 3000 steps and increment them by 500. Within a month you would be all set to 10000 steps with ease.
Remember an additional step a day can make a huge change in your fitness goal and keep you, fitter, forever.
